No room for classrooms | Musheer Ul Haq reports from Kashmir

Written by KashmirUnheard

Karewa Manloo Village, Shopian District, Jammu and Kashmir | Musheer Ul Haq

Students at the Government Girls’ Upgraded School in Shopian face bizarre circumstances in trying to get an education. Some are cramped into a kitchen converted to a classroom, others wait their turn for classrooms to get empty. Still others queue up for ages to get to the single toilet on the campus.

While the school has been upgraded from a nursery to primary school, it hasn’t received any government funds since to build the additional infrastructure needed.

Call to Action: Please call the Deputy Commissioner, Mr Bashir Ahmad on +91 9419038999 and ask him to ensure that the school gets all the infrastructure necessary.
