Kangan town is one of the most beautiful towns of Ganderbal district. This town bears importance because the road to Sonamarg passes through this very same town. One can also reach a historically important site, Naran nag, through this town, a famous picnic spot of central Kashmir. The local authorities seem to have long forgotten this town as one can see heaps of garbage and waste lying unattended in the main market which is never lifted by the municipality authprities.
