Victims of Custodial Disappearance case await promised Compensation

A father-son duo of Pathanpora was taken away by the Indian forces on16th April 1997 after torturing them in their home. Forces initially denied having taken them in but later on accepted in the Court that the duo was killed in the custody. The court asked the government to pay compensation of 20 lakh rupees to the affected family. Till date no justice has been given to the family and culprits are unpunished and compensation remains unpaid. Rafiqa Bano reports
