Kashmir has been embroiled in a continued state of unrest since July 8, 2016. The constant state of conflict and curfews since the past four months has affected the tourism industry of Kashmir by almost Rs. 4000 crores. A lonely Shikarawala Abdul Salaam Dar floats on the Dal lake. If there was peace in the valley, his Shikara would hardly be empty but today the Dal lake waters are still, just as the flow of tourists in the state. ” Our concern is neither India, Pakistan nor China. We only want to earn our living,” Dar says.

His concerns are voiced by the 3.75 lakh people who’s income is directly or indirectly associated with the tourism industry. “We want peace, We want Justice.”

Manzoor Sidiq, President Travel Agents Association of Kashmir strongly believes that the core issue of Kashmir shall be amicably resolved for the betterment of Kashmir and long lasting peace.
