Bashir Ahmad Bhat, is an inspiring artist from Sonpah village of Budgam. Bhat, is associated with making of Sozni Pashmina Shawls, the rich fiber shawls are sold at a very high price across globe. Bashir, received an international award for his commitment to the craft. He also got 2nd rank in the competition held by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

Bhat, has also participated in BRICS Handicraft Exchange Programme organized by Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM India) & National Centre for Design & Product Development Ministry of Textiles, Government of India conducted from 5th to 16th September, 2016 at Indian Institute of Crafts and Designs, Jaipur, Rajasthan. “Participants at the workshop were Artisans from different countries. We interacted with each other and learned about each others work. I came to know how Artisans in other countries work.” added Bashir Ahmad Bhat.
