Ogbal village having population of 900 souls is facing water crisis. The village is only 9 Km away from district headquarter Kupwara. This village is surrounded by forests and only source of water lies in forest also.
In year 2012 administration provided a water supply scheme for this village so that water can reach each household.
And in order to store the water in the village, government constructed a water chamber under the same scheme in year 2015 which has capacity to store 5000 gallons of water. An amount of 5.68 lac was spend to construct it.
But this water chamber has been constructed 2 km away from water source and there isn’t any process done to store the water in this chamber. Neither a water pump nor a water shed has been installed for this water chamber to store water.
The village residents are still facing water crisis. Till date this village has not seen a water tap in their village. Bore wells once installed by government are also running dry.
