‘Kashmiri Man Disappeared in Army Custody’ – Family Alleges, Police Says He Escaped

Abdul Rashid Dar, a Driver by profession was detained by 41 RR of Indian Army on 15th December for questioning in Kunan Poshpora village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara area. According to the family, the personnel of Rashtriya Rifles army unit came to the house in the evening while he was having dinner.

Upon visiting the army station, the family was told that he had escaped during a search operation. The family protested in Srinagar’s press enclave alleging army of disappearing their family member. According to the police, Rashid gave slip to the army during a search operation.
