Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art – Taekwondo was developed during the 1940s and 1950s by various Korean martial artists combining and incorporating the elements of Karate and Chinese Martial Arts along with the indigenous Korean martial arts traditions of Taekkyeon, Subak, and Gwonbeop.
The J&K Government according to the players has time and again failed them in promoting this Sport. Danish, is one of the Taekwondo player, who lives in Baramula Kashmir. He has won 15 Gold Medals in different competitions at State ad National level.
In 2011, the Taekwondo Association of India selected 10 schoolgirls from Jammu and Kashmir, who represented India in an International Taekwondo Championship held in Nepal.
