Qazi Farooq Ahmed from Zurhama village of Kupwara district was kidnapped and killed by unknown gunmen in 2014. His head had been chopped off and the body was lying in a nearby forest which was found on 21st October, two months after his disappearance. The police never initiated any inquiry into this murder. He left behind five children, all minors, and his widow wife. Farooq’s father too had been killed way back in nineties by unknown gunmen after getting disappeared.
