Mehraj Ahmad from Pulwama’s Kalampora lost his left arm during an accident in 2015. Head of the family who used to support his family financially, did not loose courage and has been able to stand up once more and is fulfilling his financial needs by running a small shop in his locality. However, Mehraj was lacking financial support and sought Govt help to establish some permanent business or work which can help his family not to suffer.
The CC along with Mehraj went to Deputy Commissioner Pulwama and brought this issue in his notice, from DC office CC was suggested to meet the General Manager District Industries Center of Pulwama. After meeting him, a case was registered for financial support under a central scheme called as Pradhan Mantri Employment Guarantee Program (PMEGP) and an amount of INR 5 lac has been sanctioned against setting up of an automobile workshop in his locality. Mehraj is planning to open the workshop in March this year.
