High School of Zampathri Keller village of Shopian lacks basic facilities like library, laboratory, accommodation, washrooms and specific subject teachers. The government has constructed a building in 2013 but it was neither taken over nor hand over to school authorities. The building is used by locals for their own purposes.
It is pertinent to mention that the area is inhabited by schedule tribe people. 85% of students who are studying there are from scheduled tribe communities. The situation reflects how this far-flung area inhabited by the ST population is being pushed to wall.
