Nawagam, a village in Budgam which is 8 Kms away from Tehsil and 50 Kms away from district Head quarters has no road facility. Village residents have to walk miles and cover the distance by foot while moving outside the village. Be it a pregnant lady or any emergency case, people have to cover 2 kms by foot to reach the main road and then board the vehicle for their destination.
A population of about 300 people has been suffering since decades and one among them is Ali Mohammad Dar, a handicapped person. He has to visit doctor on a horse while accompanied by 2-3 people on foot.
Now under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) a road is under construction in the village but the authorities have planned to complete it in 3 long years. Village residents are worried over it and wishes to complete it in shortest possible time.
