Gofkral in Tral Kashmir – Forgotten Historical Place, Culture, People, and Art. The caves of Gofkral, an important Neolithic and archeological site dating back thousands of years. The name in literal sense means, ‘the potters of caves’. There are several inhabitants of this place practicing pottery as their livelihood, who also take care of the ancient caves. The Kumhar community remains underprivileged and economically backward to date, but the protection of this ancient site and occupation remains evident proof of the resilience of this community.
