Lockdowns in the Kashmir valley have a history and it has affected the tourism industry very badly. Pony owners in Kashmir have suffered losses in crores in the last year, first due to the lack of tourism in the aftermath of Article 370 abrogation and now the coronavirus pandemic. It’s almost two years now, most of them haven’t earned anything but are welcoming tourists with hopeful eyes. In the Pahalgam area, 500 Pony owners are struggling to make both ends meet.
