Lawarpora and other villages of tehsil Beerwah witnessed heavy snow and rain on 23 and 24th of October. The snow damaged standing crops like maize, rice, and apple orchards. A village of 4000 people mostly relies on agriculture for their livelihood. People of the village demand compensation and financial support from the govt. The early snowfall has been damaging crops for some years and experts believe that this is due to the changing global climatic conditions which are affecting weather in Kashmir too.
