Hailstorm Damages Apple crop and Vegetable Farms across Shopian

Hailstorm devastated the apple orchards of Devpora, Chanchmarg, Sarbal and Adingtrazi areas of district Shopian. 25th May was a what farmers call a ‘doomsday’ for orchards as ninety percent crop was damaged due to hailstorm. The population is consisting of tribal population and their main source of income comes from apple orchards. People are now demanding compensation from the concerned department they alleged that in past such kind of calamities happened but they were never compensated.
