Eleven kilometers of the road was macadamised by the R&B department Pulwama from Drabagam Village to Achgoza in 2018-19 but one kilometer of this road was left without macadamisation at Drabgam on August 4 a day before the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir. Apart from this, the drainage system of this road is defunct and the water/waste of the households comes directly to to the road thereby adding to the agony of the people and transporters. People find it very difficult to even walk properly on this incomplete patch of the road. Villagers have been asking Govt to complete this patch but to no avail.
After the abrogation of Article 370, on August 5, 2019, the construction on this road was stopped by the concerned department due to ongoing lockdown and lack of labor. The officials claim there has been a shortage of funds as well and the abrogation of the laws has lead to confusion within the department also.
