A flash flood on 17th July 2015 caused severe damage to the whole hamlet of Babapora village in mountainous Kullan Ganderbal resulting in loss of several lives. A primary school was also affected causing severe damage to the structure. Nobody from the authorities ever bothered to take stock of the situation arising because of this calamity. The authorities abandoned the building of the Primary school which lies in shambles and the small school going kids were either forced to abandon their studies while some still continue to attend another government run high school which they say lies far away from the locality down the hill.
