On one hand the government is laying foundation stones of Medical colleges across the state but on the ground, its health department is proving out incompetent enough to run a health centre. This report is one such glaring example of official apathy which is resulting in the suffering of poor public. A dispensary in Tarzoo Sopore was upgraded into a Public Health Centre some six years ago and a building too was constructed for the purpose but till date, no requisite staff has been provided to this health centre. The constructed infrastructure is serving no purpose now and the people are demanding that either the required staff should be provided or the building be handed over to some other government department so that this structure could serve any purpose.
