The Handmade carpets of Kashmir are world famous. But with the introduction of machine made carpets, the demand for this exquisite matting from Kashmir has saw decline in demand. The old carpet makers are finding it difficult to find new trainees for this craft.This art of making carpets in Kashmir came from Iran back in the 11th century.
