Water Crisis: Residents of Garoora Village in Bandipora Suffer

Garoora village is located in Bandipora district with total 537 families residing. This village has population of 3528  as per Population Census 2011. The locals of Garoora Bandipora have to walk miles to fetch water from a spring. The local women face the brunt as the authorities have not been able to ensure safe drinking water to them.

Resident of this village use water of spring for drinking, cooking and other purpose. “We have shortage of potable drinking water. In our villages we have water pipelines without water .We even wash our clothes at spring. Animals also make its water impure while wandering there and we consume that water” says Yaseema Bano, a local resident
