Hampora village of Kupwara lacks safe drinking water facility – people use ground water for day to day use, but health department has declared the water to be unsafe for drinking. The village has a population of 1200 souls. The pipelines installed have decomposed and unable to fetch water, People have been visiting officials for a long time but nothing has changed. Most of the residents are suffering from water borne diseases due to consumption of contaminated water. Villagers suffer for 25 years due to non availability of safe drinking water.
