More than 100 braids have been chopped across the Kashmir valley in last two months and the victims have been found unconscious later at the crime scene and different narratives have come up regarding the reason and people behind it, thus increasing the mystery. Recently after two months of hue and cry, police have cracked the first case of braid chopping by arresting two person at Ganderbal. Although the incidence of braid chopping has been stopped but Government is still clueless in most of the cases. The narratives that have been come up are of Government Conspiracy, Mass Hysteria etc.
