Umar Rashid of Eidgah Srinagar is suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa since his birth , a young man of Kashmir never gave up and did not quite his studies. Umar was told to quite his studies by parents, after staying at his home for about 2 years – he rejoined classes again. Umar is a real inspiration, he did his Masters and qualified NET exam also. With the help of modern gadgets he studies and is doing regular homework.
“During exams my father used to read out all the chapters for me and I used to memorize them and it was only in 2010 when I came to know about few software that can help visually impaired person to study without any difficulty” says Umar.
“There are no facilities available for us in educational institutes and in Kashmir University special cell came in to existence in 2008”, added Umar.
