In Sheikh Mohalla of Singduna, Kupwara 40 Households have been provided with a transformer 2 years back. But the transformer has not been installed till date. The transformer lays uninstalled in the lawn for past 2 years. Now the transformer is affected with rust. Even the electricity wires are also hanging by the support of trees.
Though Narendra Modi government has reiterated that every household in India will get electricity connection by December 2018. But this village is still facing power issues.
“We have to use candles or lantern so that our kids can do school homework or eat dinner. Our kids are suffering most”, says M. Rafiq Sheikh, village resident.
