IMPACT: Sonpah Village Gets New Pipelines and Access to Safe Drinking Water

Sonpah village located in Budgam district was facing acute shortage of water for drinking. Despite having a good number of springs available, the authorities had not maintained them and the pipelines, which had resulted in shortage of water. People were forced to take contaminated water which is dangerous for the health and could be reason for outbreak of multiple diseases.

Our CC produced a video story of the issue and took up it with the concerned authority based in Budgam. Officials of The Public Health Engineering department Budgam division under Mr Beigh sahab ensured that the issue will be resolved and a budget of one lac ten thousand was allocated to install a pipeline in the village for safe drinking water.

The pipeline has been installed and a population of more than 1000 people have been supplied safe drinking water from the spring. Residents of the village supported Rafeeqa, our CC a lot and finally are thanking her for her activism and support.
