The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that the risk of intimate partner violence is likely to increase during the lockdown. Sadly, this is coming true in many parts of the country. Helpline numbers are of big help in cities. However, in remote mountain villages, it may be too late before a victim can call for help. In Poonch district of Jammu, Zaitoon Bi allegedly succumbed to her husband’s violence. Police officials informed our community correspondent that he has been arrested.
