Tariq Ahmad Khan of Anantnag’s Andoora village, a visually impaired person has become an assistant professor in history by cracking the JKPSC exam in 2016. Tariq lost his eyesight when he was in 8th class and he was diagnosed with Retina Pigmentosa, in which the eyes of a person look normal but the person loses eyesight completely, and till this date, a cure has not been found for this disease. the father and brother of Tariq recorded study material on a tape recorder and Tariq usually listened to this study material and cracked many exams like JKSSB for teachers exam, JKPSC for lecturer, and again JKPSC for assistant professor. This is an extraordinary journey about a person who otherwise is disabled – this story reflects courage and inspiration.
