The Line of Control, the de facto border dividing the region of Kashmir into two parts between India and Pakistan continues to remain tense. In the past hundreds of people have died who live near Line of Control. In the LOC sector of Keran Kupwara, the government is building community bunkers to protect civilian population during the firing incidents which happen frequently between India and Pakistani forces. The community bunkers are meant to protect the civilian population from getting affected during such scenarios. However, the local population says, that it is not enough, and people cant travel miles to hide in the bunkers located far away from their vicinity. People are demanding a permanent solution to the problem, and asking govt to build bunkers for each household.
