With the continuing lock down post abrogation of article 370 and COVID pandemic, the education sector of Kashmir has suffered badly. Students belonging to poor families have no access to smartphones or tele-classes and they continue to miss their classes. Located at a distance of few Kms from Budgam town in central Kashmir Shahidul Islam, a 7th standard student, and his siblings lack the facility of internet and smartphone and fail to attend classes. Calling online schooling as ‘nonsense’, Shahid says, it makes no sense if a bigger section of the society has neither a TV nor a smartphone.
