Budgam Village Reels Under Drinking Water Crisis

Saranhal village which is just 10 km away from district headquarters Budgam is suffering from a lack of drinking water supply for the last decade due to the negligence of the PHE dept Budgam. The population of more than 200 people suffers day in and out as they have to walk miles to fetch water from a spring. The pipeline was laid by the dept some years ago but continues to remain dry. The locals have approached the concerned Jal Shakti dept multiple times in the past but the issue never was resolved. People can be seen collecting water from a dirty water pool which flows through the village.
