Families of Detained Budgam Men Refute Police Claims – Say they are Innocent

On 7th December, the Special cell of Delhi Police claimed to have arrested five people in Delhi after a brief encounter. Three of them are from Budgam Kashmir and two from Punjab. According to police, they were arrested after a brief encounter in Delhi and three pistols, two kilograms of heroin and Rs one lakh cash were recovered from them along with the two cars in which they were travelling.

We met the families of two youth Reyaz Ahmed Rather and Shabir Ahmed Gojri, both residents of Nasrullah Pora in Nasrullahpoa Budgam. The families refute police claims of them having militant links and couch for their immediate release. According to the families, they had gone to Delhi to make some purchases for their work.
