Residents of Check Sedow village in Shopian were given a spoon of edible oil, a fist of turmeric powder, and one cup of pulses under the ICDS Anganwadi nutritional program. People blame discrimination at the hands of authorities. People in this far-flung village mostly belong to the minority Gujjar community (Schedule Tribe).
