Traditional Brick Making Provides Livelihood to many in Budgam

Abdul Hamid Lone of Nowbaba village of Budgam is one of among a few traditional brick makers in the area. Hamid is extremely skilled. The kiln is called ‘Koand’ in Kashmir and firewood is mostly used to bake bricks which many economically weaker families purchase for the construction.
