The Life of Tribal Shepherds of Kashmir | Struggle in The Lap of Nature

Mohammad Iqbal Khari belongs to most old tribe of Tribal Community known as Khari Tribe, he visits Kupwara forest each year from Rajouri with the flock of his sheep and goats. Along with him there are 30 families who reside in Budnamal forests with their live stock. These families allege that the Sheep Husbandry department is not providing them medicine and other veterinary services. In the past hundreds of sheep have died due to non availability of treatment of medicines.
