The stories of militancy and counter militancy are often reported from Pulwama and Shopian but story of other crimes like theft often get unreported and ignored by all news sections. In these two districts, shops and houses are being looted by unidentified persons during the night hours. In the first week of December, some cattle were stolen in Diaroo Shopian and in 2nd week of December 2018 same kind of theft took place in Shadimarg village of Pulwama district. A total of 6 cows, their calves and 4 sheep have been stolen in these two districts.
The authorities have no answer to the queries and thieves are in large in this area of South Kashmir. In the last week of December 3 shops were also looted in Shadimarg and things worth lacs of rupees were stolen.
When contacting police officials, they said they do not want to disclose any info about the thefts.
