Sarathpora village is 12 km away from the district headquarter, Budgam. People in this village have been struggling with poor electricity infrastructure for many years. The electricity wires can be seen hanging on trees which work as poles. The locality with a population of around 300 people according to the 2011 census has been facing this issue and the local power development department has failed to improve the infrastructure. Due to the bad power line, the village also struggles for drinking water which is pumped using electricity. After meeting the local administration of the power department, the Executive Engineer of PDD said that the infrastructure is being upgraded in phases. The bad infrastructure poses a serious threat to people.
