Aqeel, 16 Year old Boy Killed on the day of Bypolls in Budgam- Family seeks Justice

On 9th April 2017 Aqeel Ahmad Wani 16 years, was shot dead by forces in Beerwah Budgam of central Kashmir while he along with some other youth were pelting stones on para military near a polling station located at Chur-Mujroo village. The incident happened on the same day when 8 civilians were shot dead while there were huge protests going-on on the poling day in Srinagar- Budgam constituency. The family says Aqeel had been out to market to buy some goods . In the FIR the police has mentioned that a mob attacked the station with rods and sticks and tried to snatch rifles and during this conflict a person was injured.

Akeel was lone son at home taking care of his cancer affected father and ailing mother. His younger brother is studying in New Delhi.
