COVID-19: This NGO Has Been on Forefront in Kashmir for Helping Poor

From food-kits to hygiene products, Chinar International, an NGO based in Srinagar, has been helping needy people during the COVID-19 pandemic with all the possible support. The organisation has held many community camps to reach out to the non-locals as well.

We started a helpline across all districts after the pandemic started, we soon started getting distress calls from people who needed help, these are the people who usually rely on daily wages – says Javaid Ahmad, operational head at the organization.

We created an emergency kit as well consisting of around 45 items including hygiene items which we distributed in 9 districts through our offices and the team, we have so far helped 5000 families with emergency relief kits

Locals applaud the intensive and impressive work of organizations that remained at the forefront to help local and non-local people in Kashmir during such a difficult time.
