Residents of this Ramban village Walk Miles to Fetch Water

A population of around 700 people of Bagna, Ramban is suffering due to the shortage of potable drinking water. People walk 2-3 KMS everyday to fetch water. It is mostly the women of the village who face the crisis as the responsiblity of fetching water is on their shoulders. In the past, the locals of this hilly village approached Jal Shakti department for the resolution of their water issue, but nothing happened. Amid this pandemic, when water is the basic requirement to clean one’s hands and keep themselves clean, the people of this village find it difficult. Access to safe drinking water is considered to be a human right, but for these people that is not true.
