Video By: Basharat Amin

Martial arts not only improves the physical and mental ability irrespective of age and gender but also is proving to be an inspiring and empowering sport for many young girls from South Kashmir’s Shopian area. Suzain Zahoor from Shopian town is the lone martial art player in the girls category who has participated in three international martial art events held in Bhutan, Thailand, and Nepal. She has paved the way for other girls of the district to join the game. Suzain, at the age of five, started learning martial arts. Suzain is of the opinion that in this contemporary era girls are being violated and there is a dire need that girls learn self-defence skills and prove their talent as they are doing in other fields of life.
