Family of Soldier, Shakir Manzoor Wait for their Abducted Son Amid Uncertainty

23-year-old Shakir Manzoor from Reshipora Harmein Shopian was ‘abducted’ allegedly by militants according to his family on 2nd August 2020. Shakir was working as a rifleman with the Indian Army. Amid a hostile political situation, Shakir had joined the army a few years ago. According to the family of Shakir, who is disheartened and hopeless about his return, the local government and its agencies have failed them miserably by failing to trace his whereabouts from the last three months.
