Arunjeet Singh, a 20-year-old young man from Bongam Shopian is doing social work since 2011. Sikhs have a population of 190 people in Shopian. Arunjeet is helping his community as well as other communities by collecting ration, stationary, and used clothes to serve poor people who can’t manage these things. Arunjeet believes that two reasons are behind his motivation to do such work first he himself belongs to a poor family and second it is his scripture that advocates the concept of ‘Seva’ or Service. Arunjeet has distributed masks, rations, and other necessary items to nonlocal laborers in the peak of lockdown.
