The Struggle and Lifestyle of Gujjar and Bakerwal Communities

Gujjar and Bekerwal community comprises 23.9 percent of the Nomadic tribes of Jammu and Kashmir. A good number of these grazers move from Jammu to the valley of Kashmir in summers and return back in winters. The life of these pastoralist communities is very tough and is filled with struggle as they have to face weather hardships around the year. Baag Hussain and his family speak about their lifestyle and difficulties. Hussain also accuses the forest department of J&K of harassment.
