Early Snowfall Damages Crops Across Kashmir – Farmers Suffer Losses

Early snowfall causes havoc in orchards of Kashmir. Farmers and orchardists have suffered heavy losses due to early snowfall. People in Shopian town, which is known for its apples claim that 80 percent of their crop has been damaged. The frequency of early snowfalls has increased in the valley over the past few years resulting in damaging not only the crop but the trees as well. This is the harvesting season in Kashmir.
