Denial of Basic Rights: Baramulla Villages Lack Basic Amenities of Life

Hillan & Hakapathei the villages of Boniyar tehsil comprising of more then 300 house holds suffer of basic facilities due the negligent approach of government authorities. The residents of these villages belong to ST category . Having no source of income these residents move to pasture land to rare their cattle & sheep. As per villagers they move to upper reaches with their cattle in March, April and shift back in October. During the months the villages have a deserted look as only a few families stay there. Villagers are up in arms against power development department for hiking of monthly tariff of electricity while they don’t even use it. They are made to pay the bills for 12 months while these people stay there only for 5 to 6 months. The basic power infrastructure is in a shabby condition. As per villagers no one hear them & back to village program started by government is only a drama where nothing on ground is done.
