Kill at Will? Shot By a Teargas Shell in Head, Family of 76 Year old Man Fails to Understand the Reason

Ghulam Mohammad Khan Naqash , a 76 year old man was shot by a tear gas shell in his head while he was out for a stroll outside his home in Bachpora Illahibagh Srinagar on 2 November. As per family the tear gas was fired upon his head without any provocation. Ghulam Mohammad khan was a retired Govt official and former president of Secretariat Employees Union. “90 percent of brain was damaged because of tear gas shell,” says grand daughter of Khan. “I heard an explosion and ran outside and saw people taking my father to hospital,” says Fayaz Ahmad Khan, son of deceased. Ghulam Muhammad, according to family was relaxing in a nearby park and CRPF men fired a shell at him. “Everything was fine here in our area.” says grand daughter of deceased man. According to Police, An FIR (124/2016) has been lodged into the incident and investigations are on “to find out the reasons behind his injury.” The cycle of violence and protests started in Kashmir in Juy after a rebel commander was killed by forces. More than 100 people have been killed whileas thousands were injured in clashes.
