Floods could not Dampen the Determination of these Kashmiri Craftswomen

The 2014 flooding in Kashmir wreaked havoc all across the Valley causing damages in Trillions. A group of local artisans in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district were not left untouched by those devastating floods. These craftswomen had established their units for producing hand woven priced Kani Shawls which got severely damaged by the flood waters. The floods might have damaged their units and shops but surely not their spirit. These artisans gathered themselves, took loans borrowed money from relatives to re-establish their units again and earn their livelihood independently. Aneesa Hamid reports
